About

Why Once-Over exists

Most used computers are sold between strangers in a parking lot, in five minutes, with the seller watching. The things that go wrong (a dead key, a stuck pixel, a camera that never worked, a laptop still locked to someone else’s account) are easy to miss in five minutes and expensive to find at home.

Once-Over turns the five minutes into ten good ones. The page runs the tests a browser can run on the hardware in front of you, and walks you through the ones it cannot. It ends with a verdict by rules anyone can check.

What it is not

• Not a store, a marketplace or a price guide. It lists no computers and quotes no prices but the one you type in.
• Not a repair service and not remote access. Nothing is installed and nobody connects to the computer.
• Not a guarantee. A browser cannot see the drive’s health, the memory or the inside of the case; every report says so.

Who runs it

LaptopDesktop.online is run by WeldonPC.com, an IT company in Ohio. Once-Over sells nothing and repairs nothing; it is not made by, or connected with, any computer maker or marketplace.
